Main duties and Responsibilities:
- Works in coordination with Area Sales Managers to assure proposals prepared are in line with customer’s expectations and needs;
- Reviews customer’s requests and analyzes the ITBs received;
- Organizes and holds the internal bid kick-off meeting with all involved departments;
- Coordinates the team during the technical proposals preparation to assure clients requirements are met;
- Calculates the project costs and defines the budget for pricing calculations, with the support of the estimating section;
- Prepares the preliminary project cash flow in coordination with the estimating section;

The Competence Booster Program is a comprehensive 12-month learning experience designed to immerse participants in various key areas within Casale, a company known for its expertise in engineering and technology. Throughout the program, participants will work in different positions and departments, including: Engineering, Process, Project, Commercial, Digital.
By rotating through these areas, participants gain a broad and well-rounded understanding of the company’s operations and the specific skills required in each sector.
Here's an overview of each division and what participants will gain:
Engineering Division
- Learn about the selection and application of machinery in Casale's plants.
- Prepare technical documentation crucial for project planning.
- Master the design, management, and installation of piping components from the planning phase to the construction site.
Process Division
- Get an insider's view of defining the plant architecture and performing the basic definition and sizing of components.
- Participate in technical meetings with customers and collaborate with the Engineering and R&D Division.
- Gain experience with steady-state and dynamic simulations.
- Understand the principles behind designing sustainable plants and decarbonizing old installations.
Commercial Division
- Dive deep into Casale’s products and technology portfolio.
- Learn about the commercial aspects of sales and customer relationships.
- Gain hands-on experience in developing commercial offers and work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Communication departments.
Projects Division
- Learn about industrial project management from planning to execution.
- Work with Project Managers to understand planning, budgeting, cost monitoring, and revenue analysis.
- Get involved in the procurement of materials, from purchasing to delivery, and gain firsthand experience on construction sites.
Digital Division
- Discover how Casale uses cutting-edge digital technologies for thermodynamic and process simulations, leveraging in-house computational tools.
- Learn how the company manages business-related data using advanced databases and performs data analysis for insights.
- Explore the integration of digital solutions into operational efficiency and decision-making.
R&D Division
Throughout the program, participants will also interact with the R&D Division and other departments to gain a full understanding of Casale’s operations, ensuring a holistic learning experience.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Main duties and Responsibilities:
- Development of equipment design and selection of suitable material with the aim of improving existing Casale’s products and developing new solutions for various process requirements.
- Setting up and execution of R&D projects on time and budget; managing project stakeholders
- Screening and down selection of new concepts for various applications inside Casale portfolio of equipment.
- Develop new / improved mechanical design for proprietary and nonproprietary static pieces of equipment considering the multidisciplinary requirements (mechanical integrity, heat transfer, process, fluid dynamics, maintainability, installation / repair, etc.)
- Develop design of pilot reactors / test rigs for specific applications (such as pilot plans) to the required degree of details, including detailed drawings where required.
- Perform preliminary sizing of pressurized equipment as per relevant code and material selection for the specific service.
- Perform other mechanical integrity checks such as creep analysis, buckling or material suitability for specific corrosive environment using the appropriate tools, including FEM analysis where required.
- Prepare Request for Quotation for Mechanical components developed within new projects, interact with Suppliers to define the offer, and perform technical alignment of multiple offers.
- Perform heat transfer calculations and analysis of heat exchangers
- Perform equipment cost analysis and preliminary value proposition analysis including selection and interaction with possible Suppliers to collect budget prices for the proposed design.
Job requirements
Education:
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
at least 5 years in a similar position in the chemical industry or qualified suppliers of static equipment for the chemical industry, especially in the oil and gas sector or fertilizer business.
Languages:
English (fluent), German will be consider as a plus
Skills:
- Efficient communication; ability to work with interdisciplinary and international partners; project management; product design; problem solving and troubleshooting; risk management
- Experience in collecting various functional requirements and translating them into an effective equipment design.
- Solid capability to read and use CAD drawings and files – skills of using drawings software is essential, preferably AutoCAD.
- Good know-how and practical use of FEM analysis software, preferably Ansys
- Familiarity and previous professional experience with Pressurized Equipment Design Codes (AD2000, ASME VIII) and in general with mechanical integrity analysis.

- Overall management of the project.
- Represent the company towards the Client.
- Plan the execution of the project in compliance with defined timing and budget.

- Monitor the overall work progress and take suitable measures to prevent delays.
