Yara selects Uremium 29 for critical items in their Urea plants

22 February 2021

Casale is happy to announce that Messrs. Yara, one of the world’s largest producers of fertilizers, has approved and selected Uremium 29 alloy material for maintenance purposes in all their urea plants worldwide. Uremium 29 is a super-duplex alloy (i.e. austenitic-ferritic) specifically developed by Tubacex, a global leader in stainless steel and high nickel alloys tubular solutions, for Casale to be used in Urea service. Uremium 29 has demonstrated an excellent resistance to the most aggressive carbamate-induced corrosion modes and it is used in industrial applications. Its outstanding mechanical and anti-corrosive properties makes it particularly suited for the tubes of high-pressure equipment as well as for piping and fittings and, in general, all situations where a high degree of reliability and a long operating life are critical factors for sustained, trouble-free operation of any urea plant Yara will have the opportunity to rely on the prompt availability of a stock of Uremium 29, enough to face any maintenance requirement. Mr. F. Zardi, CEO of Casale commented: “We are particularly happy for the confidence that Yara has placed on Casale and Tubacex and this is a testament of Uremium 29’s outstanding properties, on one side, and the attitude of Casale and Tubacex to find viable solutions for specific demands of their trusted Customers”.
