Another win for Casale’s LEM® Melamine technology

The first grass-root melamine plant ever in South East Asia will rely on Casale LEM®, the world’s most efficient melamine process.

This facility will produce 60’000 MT/Y on single line and it will be realized on EPCC basis by Technip Energies(M) Sdn Bhd and Dialog Group Bhd for Petronas Chemicals Fertiliser Kedah Sdn Bhd (Malaysia).
Casale will deliver License, know-how, process design package, engineering assistance and proprietary items for the melamine plant as well as, thanks to its solid background as leading urea licensor, it will be responsible to ensure the smooth integration with the existing ammonia-stripping urea plant, which will receive the off gases of the melamine plant.

The LEM® process in combination with the urea-melamine integration stand out against competing technologies for:

• lowest energy consumption of both melamine plant and associated urea plant;
• highest urea to melamine conversion;
• high product quality;
• lowest carbon footprint;
• very easy and smooth integration with existing urea plant, thanks the urea-based melamine off-gas scrubbing unit.

It goes without saying that the plant meets the highest environmental and safety standards.
All equipment are made by selected suppliers who ensure the best quality and highest reliability.

Since Casale entered the melamine business in 2013 all new plants awarded outside China are based on LEM®’s, a testament of the superior performances and tangible benefits that this technology is capable to deliver.
